When Sparks Fly
After a few days of being away, we spent some quality time in the workshop and I got an introduction to a new tool. As soon as Bill started demonstrating, I immediately responded with an audible “oooo!” of approval when the sparks went flying. I was mesmerized like a child watching fireworks for the first time.
The surface grinder will come in handy due to the hard edges of the rods. By running the rods against the grinder, it will remove those pesky edges, making it easier with process of hand threading the rods.
My chief mechanical engineer is a wiz at figuring out how to make things run smoother in my work and creating the tools that I need. Since he works for beer, I brought him home a special brew called For Richer or Porter which was made at Run of the Mill in Saco, Maine.
I was hoping that he would let me keep the growler it came in, but evidently he has other plans. No matter though, I’ll just have to take another trip up north to get my own. Bill said “this is the gift that keeps on giving” after his third round of beer when he discovered he still had plenty left. It sure made his day, and he often makes mine with his ingenious way of making things come together.
